After a six-month hiatus, I'm finally returning to podcasting with "Ryan Harmon: American Born and Country-Fried." Tune in for each episode as I talk about country music, life and everything in-between. As I've done in the past, I'll still have special guests, but many episodes will just be you and I. The main goal is entertainment. Anything else is a bonus.

This Saturday, Aug. 1, I'll be playing with Luke Williams Band and 90 Proof to raise money for our friend, Big Shane Thornton. Shane's been in the hospital for a couple of weeks, which unfortunately means he's got a lot of bills ahead of him. He's always there for us, now's our chance to be there for him.
The show will start at 7 p.m. at the Beebe VFW, 405 E Center St, Beebe, AR. I play first, followed by 90 Proof and Luke Williams Band. There's a $5 cover charge, and we're also taking donations. All of the money goes to Shane.
If you can't make it to the show, you can still help by donating directly to Shane through any of these outlets:

Charlie Daniels was one of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever had the honor to interview. He was a musical innovator, a true original and a hero of mine. One of the reasons I started the old podcast "Country Fried" was so I could try to capture these great stories from legends and icons that wouldn't be around forever. I'm just thankful I got this one. This one hurts, y'all. I'm a little numb today. R.I.P. Charlie. Thank you.
Check out my interview with Charlie here.

This album tells a little of my life story, and I can't wait to share it with you. Although it's mostly a solo acoustic album, I was proud to have some very talented friends of mine play on it!

Thanks to my friends at Country Rebel, I've got a new video for you!
After my cover of "Whiskey River," you asked for some Travis Tritt, and I was happy to oblige! Given the current circumstances with COVID-19, I thought we could all use "It's a Great Day to Be Alive," written by Darrell Scott, one of my favorite songwriters and a former guest on my old podcast "Country Fried."
I had a lot of fun playing the song and I hope you like it! Check it out here.

I've got a brand new song for you! It's called "You Mean A Lot To Me."
Devin Robberson started a really cool challenge called #ForTheLoveOfTheSong, where you play a song you wrote that means something to you. My buddy Lance Carpenter nominated me for it. I wrote this song right after I found out John Prine passed away. It's a simple little song that's dedicated to my musical heroes and my non-musical heroes like doctors, nurses, truck drivers, essential workers, police, firefighters, military and so many others, including all of you. Check it out here.
I know it's tough right now, but we'll get through this. Thank you!

What are you doing tonight? How about a Facebook Live show? One week ago, my life changed. The response I've received since my American Idol audition aired has been truly overwhelming, in the greatest way possible! I didn't get that golden ticket to Hollywood, but I got something even better - three of the biggest artists in the music business telling me to pursue a music career in Nashville.
I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity, and I would like to thank all of the producers and staff of American Idol, Bobby Bones, Ryan Seacrest, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.
More importantly, I would like to thank everyone who has been in my corner for 11 years, as well as everyone who's new to the club. I'm excited to see what the future holds, and I hope you'll continue to follow me on this musical journey. I wouldn't want to do it without you.
All my love and thanks,
Ryan

I'm very excited to announce the release of my brand new single, "I Knew This Would Happen," on all major digital outlets! Starting with the foundation of acoustic guitar and vocals, the hard-hitting breakup song adds a punchy, full-band production that I've never had before. Though my music typically draws from influences such as Travis Tritt, Bob Seger and George Jones, "I Knew This Would Happen" includes elements of hard rock and '90s country, reminiscent of modern country artists such as Luke Combs, Eric Church and Jason Aldean.
I'm also excited to announce the release of a special episode of "Country Fried," featuring an interview I did with national media personality and American Idol mentor Bobby Bones. I talked to Bobby on the set of American Idol, just hours before my audition in front of Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. What advice did he give me for my audition? Check it out here. Special thanks to my friends at Arkansas PBS!
If that were enough (and you know it really should be), I'm honored to have two nominations in the 2020 Arkansas Country Music Awards, set to take place Monday, June 1 in Maumelle. I'm nominated for Acoustic Act of The Year and "Country Fried" is nominated for Publication/Blog/Podcast of The Year. Voting will open soon! Stay tuned for updates. Visit www.arkansasmusic.org for tickets and more information.

I just realized that this is my first news update since 2018, and we're almost at the end of 2019. I've always been a believer in quality over quantity, and although that can surely be frustrating when it comes to my music updates, I feel like it's been worth it.
I'm excited to announce new music and new opportunities that I've been fortunate enough to have:
Thank you so much for your continued love and support! We've come a long way in the first ten years of this musical journey, and I look forward to seeing where we go from here. I hope you'll stick around.

I'm excited to announce new music and new opportunities that I've been fortunate enough to have:
- My new single, "Midnight Fire," will be released Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. The acoustic country ballad, which features bluegrass instrumentation and an R&B-influenced melody and vocal delivery, will be available on all major digital outlets. I can't wait to share this song with you! If you've seen me perform within the last year, you've probably heard this song. I've had a great response to the song, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. There's more new music where that came from, so stay tuned!
- I was fortunate enough to be invited to audition for American Idol this year, and I'm thrilled to announce that I was selected to go through to the televised audition rounds, where I performed in front of Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie! I played a new song I wrote, which you'll be hearing next year. Full disclosure - there's no guarantee of what footage they'll show, but I hope you get to see it! We did a lot of cool stuff that day that I think you'll enjoy.
- If you haven't "liked" and "followed" my Facebook page yet, I'd love to have you join us! Head over to www.facebook.com/ryanharmonmusic, so you can catch new music announcements, upcoming shows and more before anyone else. And be sure to check out my new #MusicMonday series, where I feature different music each week, along with news updates and more.
Thank you so much for your continued love and support! We've come a long way in the first ten years of this musical journey, and I look forward to seeing where we go from here. I hope you'll stick around.

I was thrilled to be on KATV's "Good Morning Arkansas" this week (11-14)! Thanks to everyone for the kind words about the appearance, and special thanks to everyone at GMA for having me on and being so great to me! I hope I can come back soon.
